A Rhode Island School of Design trained architect, Charles practiced Architecture for 4 years in Boston.
He then started his product design company Robinwood / Boston and won several design awards and was Inc Magazines 27th fastest growing inner city company in 2000.
After a mid life crisis in 2003, Charles went off to North Bennet Street School, America's oldest operating trade school to study the craft of 18th century furniture making.
He then made furniture in the Boston area for the next 6 years.
