I originally began my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in business with every intention of working in advertising.
In the beginning, I wasn't feeling completely fulfilled.
After connecting with a new friend who was majoring in interior design it was apparent that I needed to pursue a different path.
I quickly changed my major.
I had to complete two semesters of design classes before they would even accept me into the competitive and small program.
Once I started taking classes, that was it for me, I felt like I had found my place.

The name Anne Rae draws significance from my family roots.
Anne is my middle name (my mother loved the European roots of the "e" at the end).
Rae is my grandmother's middle name.
My grandmother, Eletha Rae, was in my life for only a short time, but I have wonderful memories of her.
When I started Anne Rae Design, I knew I wanted to have a name that had meaningful origins.
My grandmother's spirit was so infectious, I wanted it to be a part of the firm.
Eletha Rae's personality and the love and care that surrounded her is the soul of Anne Rae Design.
