Advanced program studies recognized by the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) include Kitchen & Bath Design, Lighting, Window Design, REVIT Architecture (CAD), Environmental and Sustainable studies. Students in the advanced studies intern with some of the most prestigious design firms on Long Island and have successfully auditioned for and completed many design home showcases.
The Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design also offers a Universal Feng Shui Practitioner Certification program and a Fashion Design diploma program. The Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design is licensed by the New York State Department of Education.

All classes offered can be taken on an individual basis for students who have a desire for continuing their education.
Our The Practical Aspects of Feng Shui (for Interior Designers) (30 hours) program incorporates teachings from a variety of recognized Feng Shui schools such as BTB Feng Shui, Pyramid, Form, Compass and others.

It teaches the philosophy of Staging, which is drastically different from the philosophy of Design.
The seminar covers Staging for residential and commercial properties, the business aspects of staging, and old properties vs. new construction.
Other topics that are covered relating to the essence of Staging: the unique purpose of each room, dimensioning, and the practical application of the art of Feng Shui.

Deborah has been an instructor at the Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design since 2007, is passionate for all aspects of interior design, as evidenced by 30 years of research and practical experience.
Receiving her degree from the Willsey Institute of Interior Design and teaching license from the NY State Association of Career Schools, she also attended the NY Institute of Technology, and began her teaching career with the Continuing Education Program at C.W. Post.
Experience in the field has included consulting work in providing interior design services, faux painting, and selling French antiques.
